Hey everyone, hoping for some advice.

I have a fiction book that I released 4 years ago that sold well, but got mixed-poor reviews. Four years later, I have fixed the problems in my writing that caused the reviews.

I really like the series idea, branding, story etc. However, I messed up book 1, and also failed to capitalize on sales by writing book 2.

I want to completely write book 1, keeping maybe 50% of the original story. The other 50% would be new writing that ties in with the premise of the series, that I should have included in book 1.

Then, I would release it again with the same title and same cover, but with a note in the description that it is a re-written book. I would then release book 2 soon after.

Does this sound okay to do?

Label it as 'Edition 2' ... if it's significantly different, Amz will not accept it anyway. A re-release of the same book must be mostly the same cover, title, AND content.  A few corrections OK, but a major overhaul must appear as a new edition.  Hope that helps.
