You can consider it violation... or free advertising. Imagine an author who has 3000 followers in your genre reads a chapter of a book. And percentage of that audience buys book instantly, even at 1%, that is 30 sales. If those be audiobook sales, how nice would[.../quote]

Amazon has permission to show readers the sample. They have permission to post all of it. Without that, you will get sued no matter how many 'free sales' it might generate for the offended person. Authors on here would get involved, I'm sure, but so would traditional publishers and they can pack a nasty punch. Plus, it's just not right. Why should you benefit from their hard work? Did you write the book? Edit it? Lovingly shape it into the wonderful magic the readers enjoy? Unless you can say yes, or you have written permission, it's unethical. Not all writers are okay with someone making a buck on their backs just because they might make a buck in return. Those people usually end up switching to careers that don't take as much work. Being a writer is hard. Ideas like this make it harder.

Now, you can get mad at that or you can adapt your idea to be ethical. Either way, this is an official DNP with timestamp and date. Do Not Post my work. I'm comfortable in my categories, for the most part, and I don't need your help. Like most indies, I'm doing fine on my own. If I start to sink, I know how to swim.
