There's also a big overlap in writing & art. I think it's really that there's a creative mind at work, and most creative minds seek multiple outlets.

Awesome... I've been playing guitar for almost twenty years now... but I do it all. Recently just got a banjo, still figuring it out. Fun instrument. Next will be a violin.

Oh yeah, and the school where your kids go would be good too.  Plus, can you cut back the hedges and some of your tree limbs?  It makes it hard to see into the back yard on Google Earth.

Can I participate? I only recently started thinking of myself as a writer, and am about to (try to) publish my first short story collection.

Real Job: Teaching creative use of computers, especially web development and design, action-scripting and animation. Also teach online and write content for online courses.
Other Real Job: Artist - sculpture and drawing in many media. These things do occasionally get sold.
Hobbies: Musician - I'm a singer. In a group called "Shower Songs" with my husband, who plays the mandolin. We cover everything from heavy metal and blues to folk songs.
