okay, so I have had my k1 for a month.  A week or 2 ago I had it hooked up to my computer and was playing with calibre.  I noticed something odd that I need confirmation on please.  Okay so I plugged in the usb (to computer and Kindle) and the funniest thing happened, the charge indicator light came on.  Now, no where that I can find in the user guide is this mentioned.  Also, that light is listed strictly as the charge indicator light, not charge indicator/usb engaged light.  So my question is, has anyone else noticed this on Kindle 1 (Klassic) and if so, did it actually charge the battery, or is this just a fluke?

It's not designed to work that way. You may receive a trickle charge, but the Kindle USB cord will not fully charge your Kindle.

This is supposed to be one of the improvements of the K2--that it will actually charge via the USB connection.
