Is there any reason to defrag the kindle ? i.e. run defrag for it as an external drive ?
I looked at the defrag screen and it shows huge red areas (of fragmentation ?? )
I just have 5 books and a bunch of mp3 music files. I haven't ever deleted anything as of yet (its pretty new )
what do you think ?

Mmmm, I'd probably not worry about it. Defrags are mainly for disk drives to increase efficiency as the disk spins, and you want to try (ideally) to have all the related pieces of a file together.

But the Kindle doesn't have a disk drive, and all the "storage" is directly accessible. So defragging wouldn't really matter, and knowing most Windoze stuff, would likely hose it up! ;-)

Cheers,
Mike

I'd be worried that doing a defrag might do something to the Kindle's Operating system(KOS?)  It may cause it to not function at all.  I'f not experiment with it.
