So, the Oprah one and the Paul Harvey talking about farmers one I thought were just cheesy.  They were for CARS for cryin' out loud!  Would have been tons better if they were just public service announcements.

None of the beer commercials were particularly good this year.  Though the one with the Clydesdale all grown up was cute.

Nothing else was very memorable. . . or it'd be coming to mind immediately now, right?

The Doritos Goat was pretty funny, though I'd seen it already as Doritos had a vote for best fan made spot.

Oh, and the library argument about Oreos!  I thought that was really funny! :D

I kinda liked the guy chasing down the cheetah. Silly, but it made me chuckle.

p.s. The halftime show was visually cool, but being a rock or classic kind of guy, that incessant thumpitty thump GOT ON MY NERVES.

I liked PSY and the pistachios; the miracle Joe Montana stain (Tide); the Minnesotan who sounded like he was from Jamaica (VW); and the dad playing princess with his daughter (Doritos).

The Oreo whispering cookie fight was funny, too.

The Clydesdale all grown up was my favorite.  I really liked the Paul Harvey/Dodge commercial "on the 8th day God created a farmer" (maybe because I'm in Iowa?); the Oprah/Jeep commercial, not so much.  The Tide/Joe Montana stain was cute.  My least favorite was the GoDaddy with the sloppy geek kiss.

What about the Calvin Klein commercial? I was a BIG fan of that one... ;)

I'm pretty disappointed with CBS that they allowed a Scientology commercial.  I wonder if there's some loophole they used since they're still, for some reason I don't understand, considered a legitimate religion.  But they can reject a Sodastream so it doesn't upset Coke or Pepsi?  I mean really?

I agree, most weren't memorable. Hubby and I are apparently alone in thinking the library/Oreos one was stupid. :D

It was stupid. . . . .but also pretty funny. :D

I don't recall a scientology one. . .but do remember a soda stream one. :-\

I don't think the network are required to or prohibited from airing anything but can accept or reject a commercial based on how much money the organization is willing to pay and how they assess the risk that they'll get fined or publicly castigated about accepting it (which could affect future earnings).

I suspect no political agenda. . .just a fiscal motivation.

Ah, they must have just forced Sodastream to change the commercial. I saw places reporting both. The Scientology spot was pretty boring, really. I just don't get them allowing something so touchy. I doubt there was a political agenda, but I do think it was a really bad decision on their part.

I was not impressed with any of the commercials, I must say.  This was easily the most forgettable Super Bowl and commercial fest ever.  When the only thing of note that happened the entire day was the black out - that shows you how sad it was.
