I have just published 4 short stories

They have all been published in magazines or anthologies before and are:

The Smell of Magic (Short Story)

"Love may smell sweet and betrayal bitter, but revenge has the richest scent of all..."

Kelde has returned to his village after two years away training as an apprentice Witch Hunter searching out magic use. He meets up with Shara his childhood sweetheart, who has promised to wait for him, but is she everything she seems?

The Smell of Magic is 4,000 word fantasy romance story with a twist and was originally published in Realms of Fantasy Magazine.

Alyssa and the Robin (Short Story)

Alyssa lives in a house protected from the outside world.
She only has Mentor, the house computer, and a mechanical Robin for company and initially is happy.
She explores the house and finds a secret that changes everything...

This 2,500 word Science Fiction short story originally appeared in Scheherezade magazine.

First Through the Post (Short Story)

Tony is a mailer; someone who sends themselves through the vacuum tube postal system in a box for the fun and thrill of the challenge. When Brandon, a brash young American arrives at the Mailers' hangout, Tommy' cafe, and starts to make a move on Claire, Tony's almost girlfriend; Tony decides to call his bluff and challenges him to a race through the London network.

Even if it means going through the dreaded King's Cross hub....

This 4,300 word Science Fiction short Story was first published in On Spec magazine.

4 Stars - "An inventive and amusing idea, neatly handled". AnthologyBuilder.

Cooper's Creek (Short Story)

Jerry and Sue have just stolen a car from the LA Dome and they are on a road trip away from trouble.
They stop at Cooper's Creek, in the middle of nowhere and find an old-fashioned store. But it is unlike any store they've seen and Jerry soon finds that a man can change after all.

A 3,800 word Science Fiction story in the style of Ray Bradbury, Cooper's Creek was originally published in The Mammoth Book of Road Stories.

Many thanks for looking

Mike-

Welcome again to KindleBoards and congratulations on your short stories!

(If you've gotten this welcome before, it's just as a matter of housekeeping. We like to put a copy of the "welcome letter" in each book thread. It doesn't mean you've done anything wrong, it just helps us know that you know the rules.)

A brief recap of our rules follows:

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it as we ask that authors have only one thread per book and add to it when there is more information. You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice).

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days. Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link. Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows. This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles! Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post. For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread:
Authors: KindleBoards Tips & FAQ.

All this, and more, is included in our Forum Decorum: http://www.kboards.com/index.php/topic,36.0.html. Be sure to check it from time to time for the current guidelines and rules.

Oh, and one more thing: be sure to check out the index threads at the top of the Book Bazaar. . . .there are details there about how you can be listed so that our readers can find you.

Thanks for being part of KindleBoards! Feel free to send us a PM if you have any questions.

I have added two more short stories at 99c each:

The Case of the Overdressed Man

Dr. Theosophus, the famous Victorian magician and his young assistant Nick are disturbed by a mysterious man who is dressed in heavy clothing despite the summer heat outside.

The man turns out to be trapped in a robot body and with missing beautiful sisters, dangerous scientists and the powers of the new Elektron Energy all coming into play, Dr. Theosophus and Nick are soon deep into a new case.

This 6,000 Steampunk fantasy story was originally published in Andromeda Spaceways magazine.

Waiting for an Angel

Johny is a simple man who works in a warehouse. When he is involved in an accident and dies he cannot understand why he has been kept on earth and his angel has not come to collect him.

Then, something happens at work and he realises why he has been saved.

This 2,500 words Fantasy story was originally published in Electric Velocipede

NOTE: Both these stories are included in the anthology "The Smell of Magic and Other Stories"

If you a free sample story to see if you like my style then try:

Completing the Cycle (Short Story)

A group of scientists and archaeologists travel to an abandoned alien world and try and work out why the aliens left and where they went. As they explore the city, the scientists feel the alien presence more and more strongly and it brings into focus their own feelings and fears.

A 4,000 word SF short story of alien contact.

Many thanks

Six short stories are still available for 99c each or you can buy The Smell of Magic and Other stories collection (which contains 8 stories) for just $3.99.

Five Star review from Nancy Fulda on Amazon.com:

"Rich, Delightful Prose June 12, 2011
"The Smell of Magic" is written with a lyrical style that draws the reader in and gives the world of the story unexpected vividness. I first read this story years ago, and it has hung in my memory so well that I immediately wanted to post this review when I saw the listing on Amazon. "

Many thanks
