Good luck! Looks like you have a great plan. Only thing I would consider adding is some cheap FB ads. You could run one for $5 and target authors whose style/genre is similar to yours. Have the ad go right to Amazon for the sale.
Second week launch promo stats

I've been lurking around here and have learned a lot. I've found the details about the different launch strategies, including promos and sales, to be invaluable. In order to give a little back, I'm going to track my own little promo. I hope some of you find this data useful.
I recently launched my first book, Undersold. I currently have the price set manually at .99 for the launch, and will bump it up to 2.99 at the end of this coming week.
My ideal goal is to push Undersold up enough to get on the hot new releases list, but my genre is really competitive, so I don't know. I'm not super confident, if I'm completely honest, but I'm hopeful. It's not the best lineup, and I couldn't get some of the bigger ones (ENT never responded, BB turned me down).
Here's the promo schedule:
Starting rank: #44,089
Final numbers:
2/22: Fussy Librarian (as of 11:30am, 7sales and 0borrows; as of 10pm, 15sales 2borrows, #14,500rank)
2/23: bargain booksy (9:45am, 1sale 3borrows #18,777; as of 9:45pm, 38sales 4borrows, #22,306rank; peaked at 50 sales, #4,178rank)
2/24: bettybookfreak, booksends, bknight (11pm, 84sales, 9borrows, #1,566rank; hit hot new releases in new adult and romantic suspense; peaked at 91sales with #1,336rank)
2/25: booktastik, peoplereads (18sales, 9borrows)
I'll update with sales numbers and rank changes as the days progress
edit: going to try and run adwords tonight/tomorrow as well, we'll see how that goes.
Update: Adwords has been much better since I focused in on specific keywords and limited my bidding. Not a lot of clicks, but some, and the CPC is under .20cents on average.

First day is over; I feel okay with 15 purchases. I was hoping for more, but 15 is a decent start. I'm going to remain optimistic that tomorrow will be even better!

My ranking dropped overnight, currently sitting at #18,777. Hoping today can boost me under 10k at least.

Turned out to be a decent day today! As of 9:45pm, 38sales, 4borrows. Rank sitting at #22,306, but I suspect that'll change overnight. Hoping tomorrow can keep the ball rolling!

Well, yesterday's graph peaked at 50 sales! My rank hasn't updated though, so I'm guessing Amazon is a little slow right now?

Rank updated, hit #4,178! Good, but not good enough for the bottom of the hot new releases. Hopefully today will nudge me up there!
The book is selling again today (12sales, 5borrows), but I've seen a small drop in my ranking since it updated this morning. No clue what's going on with that.

I hope so too. Today was supposed to be my big day, with tomorrow and the next day sorta tapering off in terms of big promotional stuff (though hoping the numbers stay up there from the first 3 day push), and it's definitely working. 53 sales and counting.PaulineMRoss said:Wow, those are good numbers. The ranking updated again, put me at #3,023. 58 sales today.
The bottom of the Hot New Releases list? #2,854, when it was over 3k earlier. I am so, so close! I'm not sure hitting this list will make much of a difference, but it's become an arbitrary goal.
