I have a bunch of books in/near publication ready in my series, the 2nd is ready to go, the 3rd will be after I let another beta reader get a crack at it (so probably ready within the month), and the 4th is halfway edited. I was planning to space them out to give a chance for review blogs etc. to keep pace, but that would take a while and I've heard some people had luck releasing a bunch of books close to one another - what do you think? Dump out Books 2 and 3 within the next couple months and the 4th ASAP after getting betas and revising or space them out over a while?

If books are in  a series I'm very unlikely to read the first one until I know the others are available - there is nothing more annoying than book 2 not being there when I finished #1. I would consider having at least the first 2 if not 3 out at the same time. Also make sure you have a way for readers to sign up to your email list at the end of the books so you can notify them of new releases

Yeah the first one is out already - guess maybe I should put out the second when I do my free short promo next week and the third once the beta and revisions are done?

I think you've got nothing to lose by releasing the first three at the same time.  If people love your book, they'll then go off and buy the other two.  It also gives you some cushion if you decide to price the first book at 99-cents to bait the hook (you'll still have two other books at full price).  I think casual readers have short memories.  I'm completely guilty of LOVING a book, and then never checking back again to see if the author has released more.  I read, I love, I buy what is available, and move on.

Hmm, the first one has been out since January but sounds like good advice nonetheless thanks, I guess I will get them out ASAP and just slowly send them out to reviewers after they get done with the first one.

My trad pub mentality still needs some work to get rid of completely it seems...
