Split Test Book Covers: Helpmechooseacover.com

We threw this little project together for authors wanting to split test book covers through social media. You can use Pickfu, but they charge $20. Ours is free. You can upload up to 4 covers to test. Then it creates a page with a poll/voting on it you can share. People can also leave comments.

This just came out of beta. Hopefully all the bugs are gone. Feel free to give it a whirl. Any suggestions or fixed just let me know. Hope you find it helpful.

This is a great idea Jim!

And to make it free, I hope authors here really appreciate this kind of help. Covers are one of the key elements to make or break the success of a book's exposure.
A split-testing site for book covers? Wow! This could be BIG, Jim. Thanks for sharing.
Love it!
Thank you! What a brilliant tool :D
Bumping this thread in case someone missed it. ;D
Another bump from me as well :)
Another cool idea for a site
Cool site, Jim.

I looked at a few and it's fun and easy to vote. Nice job. My only suggestion would be to add a "none" option that is done in a nice way. I thought about that because there is one that I wouldn't feel comfortable voting for the two choices, but it would be nice to be able to warn the author that they need to go back to the drawing board if none of the options are viable. Since I didn't want to leave a comment and I couldn't vote for the two options I snuck out quietly.  ;) I would hate for that person to publish with those two cover options. Anyway, just a suggestion.
Why not just use Google Consumer research? You can get 100 responses with demographic data on an AB test of your covers, and it costs $10 (10 cents per response). You'll get feedback pretty much immediately.

I didn't know Google Consumer Surveys existed, which is why I wouldn't have used them. ;D But thanks for the heads up, looks like an awesome tool.
Perhaps it's just my operating system/browser (Linux, tried Chromium and Iceweasel), but after uploading my files and verifying that I'm not a robot, I click on "Click here to create voting page"...and nothing happens.
This is great Jim! One tiny suggestion - it might be useful for the author to be able to state their genre, so that can inform your voting choices.
But nice work! I'm looking at it on Chrome on a Mac, and it's working nicely.

That was my suggestion, too. Otherwise, good job, Jim. Thanks.
Really nice! I am hoping to have 3-4 books done by end of summer / early fall so this will be a welcome way to gain feedback on covers since I will probably be doing my designs on my own.
I would like to see a "none of these" option as well.
This is a great service, Jim, but there are two problems that may be reducing the amount of traffic you're getting.

1. The right side of the covers is still cut off in the display that 99% of the viewers will see. Yes, if they go to the voting page, there is a little, barely visible, nondescript icon which will let the user see the cover full-size without its edge cutoff. How do they know about that icon? They don't. Some may stumble on it. So, for all practical purposes, the right side of the cover will be cut off.

Here's proof that viewers don't realize the image is cut off. Someone on a forum said "I'd suggest you consider a bit more background picture to the right of the I in Anti. On first glance, the title looked like the Ant Terrorist."

2. You limit the size of the image files to 150 KB. Not only that, but the limit is actually lower. That is, it won't let me up load a 148K image.

This is a great service. With some minor fixes it might get more traffic.
