I'm curious what people think about when they search for books. I look at the ratings, but if my closest friends have said "Hey, I love it." and it has a 2 star, I might actually still buy it.
But even if it's 5 star across the board and none of my close friends have even heard of it, I still give it a wide berth.
Is it just me?
And by the way, some of my FAVORITE books have 3-star ratings and I wonder WHY they aren't more. To each his own, I guess.
Do the stars mean as much as the review itself? Do you go there first if you've heard good things, check out what's said before making a decision? Or will a star rating stop you in your tracks.
