Yesterday, I uploaded my fourth self-published title, complete with a brilliant cover from my sister-in-law (who's now taking orders at www.lawstondesign.com).
It's a short story collection, and a follow-up to Something Nice, which I've suddenly realised was published nearly three years ago!
When I put the first collection out, it was a bit of a shot in the dark. I've learned so much from Kboards in the meantime, and I have a bunch of new ideas about how and when to promote these stories.
I know that these collections of shorts are never going to establish me as a writer or make my fortune, but I love sharing them with readers, and thanks to the conversations, advice and friendship I've found here, I'm at least going in with a few ideas to give me a fighting chance of reaching a decent readership.
"Something Nicer" (bit.ly/1FwAtBh) is a collection of quirky, twisted and bizarre short stories, ranging from competition-winning drabbles to the novelette "The Adventures of Toby and Gark", in which a friendly alien hiding with a human child forgets to phone home, and instead stays for 30 years...
Happy publishing, folks!
