I was browsing through BigStock looking for stock photos for my new cover. When I found one I wanted, I noticed that there was an Extended License option that "Allows you to use this image on merchandise for sale or in web templates". The price for the Extended License was absolutely outrageous, btw. I'm assuming that I would have to purchase the Extended License if I wanted to use it for an ebook cover. Could someone in the cover design industry clear this up for me? I want the image, but I'm not going to purchase it at the $100 that they're asking for the Extended License.
By "merchandise for sale" they mean putting it on coffee mugs and posters and things where the thing that you're selling is their image, not your product (the book).
