This is ridiculous. I got out a table and put my Kindle and an extension cord on it so that I will be ready to recharge as soon as my new chargers come in. Keep the whole set up off the floor. Maggie has now started to gnaw on the legs of the table, and they are metal. How can a dog damage metal like that. This is in a room with computers and DVD recorders and all types of electronics. How come she just goes after my Kindle.

I think you may have to call the Dog Whisperer.

For all the other cat owners.  We've trained them to scratch in appropriate places so our furniture and rugs are safe.  We don't have curtains just blinds so no climbing going on there.  Never found them chewing a cord to anything.  But then again these two are so intelligence impaired that they don't realize they can jump over the fence.    Now howling at 4 am to be fed...that's a whole nother non-kindle post.

We watch the Dog Whisperer, we watch Dogtown, we watch all dog shows looking for some hint of help. Actually they should have made the movie "Marly & Me" with Maggie (except that she is a terrier). She is much more ridiculous, and funny, than Marly. With her pay from the movie I could buy new Kindles and new furniture, rugs, walls, etc.

Oh, mine has chewed through even the black kongs.

For a nearly indestructible chew toy, I've found the GoughNut to be the best. My dog, Snyder, also enjoys but can't destroy the Egge.

Is there something with cats that their stomach clock goes off at 4 am? The cat we adopted in January loves to wake us up every morning, letting us know that if we don't feed her instantly she will starve to death. STARVE do you hear me, STARVE!

We had it pretty easy with our cat when she was a kitten...each Christmas she'd be in the tree and she loved chewing on DH's antenna wire on his clock radio until it was finally gone...weird how she never chewed the wire on mine

I got Chihuahuas because I heard it would take them about an hour to tear up a Kleenex, so no worries about home destruction. But sad to say one of them made my cell phone charger into lunch a few months ago. Since then I keep all of the electronics out of reach--ha-ha, Chihuahuas can't jump very high. They have also chewed the corner of a windowsill on a low window in my kitchen, and I was able to stop that for now by smearing the corner with Vicks VapoRub. Next stop will be dog whisperer boot camp for the little hellions if I smell Vicks on them.

With cats, it's something about 4am in general. When cars go past my house a little sliver of light from their headlights sneaks between the blinds and hits the wall. So starting around 4am, the cat is bouncing off the walls trying to catch that little sliver of light. Yes, literally bouncing! I'll hear a thud and look over and watch my cat do body slams against the wall.

The cat will also chase a light in circles for so long that he can't walk straight. He stumbles, falls over and then just lays there for a few minutes.
