Fun post and idea! :)

My list...

(1) laptop
(2) four notebooks (I don't like mixing ideas in notebooks, it scares me)
(3) my wall of sticky notes
(4) my whiteboard
(5) my calendar
(6) iTunes open with music
(7) BBQ sunflower seeds
(8) a beverage (preferably a cold beer)
(9) a guitar in case I think of a riff or need a break
(10) a picture of my kids to remind me why I write

How's that?  haha ;)

1. My computer
2. My desk

Those are my only necessities. But if there's room for them I'd also like a cold bottle of Dr. Pepper and a stack of research books. I'm always needing to pause and look up historical facts and I can't always find the info I need online.

Thinking about it is rather depressing in my case. I don't have a decent place to write. The number 1 thing I need, besides my laptop, is peace and quiet, and I don't have that, either. Constant interruptions. Nearly constant noise. [sigh]

Here are my must-haves:

1. computer
2. iTunes with my writing playlist open
3. headphones to listen to the music
(started using headphones when my speakers blew and love them now)
4. either coffee or flavored seltzer water on ice depending on time of day
5. my notepaper for jotting down random notes and lists for the book
6. my main notebook with research notes and ideas
7. good lighting

A window. If I'm going to stare off into space while I think, I want to stare at something besides the screen or the walls.  :)

A glass of Maker Mark - neat - thank you very much
Mine's a rum and diet coke on the rocks, thank you. Not that I don't like Maker's Mark, it's just that the wife only drinks rum and it makes it easier.

Other things on hand. I love haing our three dogs around (300 lbs worth of dog) but not when they're rambunctious, only when they've been fed and are sedate.

My thesaurus. I love the indentations. Those litte half spheres cut into it that mark the letters.

Everything else is up for debate. I prefer writing when it's snowing, but not happy scenes. I like music, but the words come too few and far between that way. I love having the wife around, just not talking about her day. I love writing by a natural light like a candle, but only in winter. I write best when I'm hyped up on coffee, but prefer to write drunk. What I need above all is the absence of stress.
