I'm an old (okay, not ancient... maybe I should say experienced... ) graphic designer venturing into the ebook world. So last week I decided to do some sample covers. I like playing with tropes, and am fascinated at how covers inform the potential reader as to exactly what book she or he is getting. I had a ball doing these and thought I'd share my favorites.

Pride and Prejudice in a classic tradebook type format:

Pride and Prejudice as Erotic Romance!

Pride and Prejudice as a modern mystery

I would also like to explore traditional romance covers, am looking for a good piece of artwork for that. And I'm open to ideas/critiques as well.

Those are fun, and they look great. Even knowing the book itself, the different covers give me different impressions. Your website is lovely as well -- it's always nice when you can tell a good designer based on the product alone! I'm not anywhere near being ready for a cover for my book yet, but I'm bookmarking you for future reference. Best of luck!

@Gregoryblackman, I love at least the premise of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Especially the cover...
