The Overtaking is on sale for just 99 cents! Grab it while it's hot!

Here's the description:

Shayne Bartlet has been kidnapped, his powers disabled and his memory altered. He's not having a good day. And he doesn't even know it.

When Shayne's telepathic abilities surface, he finds out Danielle isn't the normal teenager she appears to be. In fact, she's not even from his world. And when he finds out her race is responsible for the overtaking of his entire planet, he sets out to uncover the truth about her.

Danielle didn't mean to fall in love with a Maslonian boy. Her job was to observe and report. But when Shayne's well being is at stake she goes against orders to help him, putting her own self in danger.

Together, Danielle and Shayne discover that things are not as they seem. They must stop Danielle's race from destroying the Maslonian planet, and free Shayne's people.

Congratulations on your book, Victorine!

(If you've gotten this welcome before, it's just as a matter of housekeeping. We like to put a copy of the "welcome letter" in each book thread. It doesn't mean you've done anything wrong, it just helps us know that you know the rules.)

A brief recap of our rules follows:

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it as we ask that authors have only one thread per book and add to it when there is more information. You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice).

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days. Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link. Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows. This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles! Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post. For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread:
Authors: KindleBoards Tips & FAQ.

All this, and more, is included in our Forum Decorum. Be sure to check it from time to time for the current guidelines and rules.

Oh, and one more thing: be sure to check out the index threads at the top of the Book Bazaar. . . .there are details there about how you can be listed so that our readers can find you.

Thanks for being part of KindleBoards! Feel free to send us a PM if you have any questions.

A few congratulations are in order here. First to you, Vicki. We're coming out with books within a few days of each other. (I happened to announce mine here: http://www.kboards.com/index.php/topic,66600.msg1085494.html#msg1085494). It takes a lot of work to get to this day.

Second, I saw you passed the 100,000 mark on your last book. That's a major thing. I'm particularly fond of your covers. You probably answered who designed them in in your blog, which I have marked as a favorite, but I haven't noticed the answer. Whoever does them: brilliant.

And Suzanne, I just read the interview you did with Vicki. You ask good questions. Well done. Good luck on your books, too.

Thank you, Chris!

I have a little bit of graphic design background, so I was able to do my own covers. I really think I lucked out with them.

Good luck with your books as well!

Thank you, Robert! I hope you enjoy the book! Your suggestions over on CC were good. :) Thanks for your help with it!!

Vicki
I already noticed some of the changes you made and am glad I was able to help. I am confident I will like it since I like your first one and it doesn't have elements of sci-fi in it.

Vicky, I noticed in another thread that you mentioned you get about 100 people a day buying your book, "Not What She Seems," which is how you reached more than 100,000 sales. I released my new book last week as you did with your new book, and you may be asking yourself what I'm asking myself right now. How do 100 people a day find your book in the absence of advertising? Is it because you reached the bestseller lists?

Here's my question from another angle: When my publication day began with Kindle Nation announcing "Love at Absolute Zero," I had about fifty sales right off because of that. The next day, I had no ads, so sales dropped a lot. Today, I'm running a banner here on Kindleboards, but here it is after noon, and I haven't sold a single copy. Of course, I have to assume people may be getting a sample and will read it later. Or maybe the banner doesn't do much. I realize I can't--or shouldn't--expect immediate results, but I also have to figure that for you to reach 100 new purchasers a day, it's not advertising that's doing it.

I guess I'm in awe of the magic that sometimes happens, and I'm trying to figure out what I should do next besides advertise or spend time on the Kindleboards. Goodreads and giveaways was a good idea you've mentioned. It just struck me yesterday that to reach--and now expect--that you're getting 100 buyers a day, something's happening. I'm thinking it might be word of mouth by this point.
