[Betsy the Quilter]

Musial retired after the 1963 season.  Wow, that's a long time ago.  And he and his wife (who died last year) were married for 71 years.

As one of his supporters said (paraphrased), after the disclosures this week about one formerly admired athlete, it makes you appreciate even more a man like Musial.

And Earl Weaver and the Orioles were synonymous growing up for me.

Earl Weaver was 82; Stan Musial was 92. (Married for 71 years.) Not a young whippersnapper like Earl.
