to do preorder or not-- that is the question

My publisher is putting my novel, Grunge Gods and Graveyards, on sale the first week of May and buying some ads. I'm self-pubbing the spin off/sequel novella this June. So, should I put my novella on pre-order and hope those who buy GG&G on sale will also purchase a pre-order of my novella? I'd love to get my novella out by the first week of May, but that feels impossible to do right now.
