I attempted to transfer an azw file from my computer to the kindle (dumasalpetext01vicom11kindle.azw), but I get an error message that says "the target cannot handle this type of file."  Is there a setting change necessary to transfer this file?

Hmmm....are you putting it in the documents folder?

Can you try a different .azw file that you know works on your Kindle?  Copy it off and then copy it back.  This is to confirm that a working .azw file can be copied by you.

If you can get that to work then the suspect is the dumasalpetext01vicom11kindle.azw file.  It may be corrupt.

If you can't get that to work then something is going wrong with your copy procedure.

If you have Whispernet, you could try e-mailing it to your K, it has worked like a charm for me.
