Transferring books to a new publisher in KDP?

Hello everyone,

Looking for advice on the best way to handle the following situation:

From July 2012 until December 2012 I published four "In 30 Minutes" titles on KDP using a DBA (doing business as) publisher name, which is attached to my social security number. Funds were paid to a business bank account set up under the DBA name.

At the beginning of this month, I set up a publishing company, i30 Media, as a Massachusetts corporation with its own tax ID number. Sales are growing, and I want to expand the "In 30 Minutes" brand to include works by other authors (and have several titles in various stages of development).

Is anyone aware of any issues with going into a KDP account, changing the DBA name to the corp name and updating the tax ID and bank info? It looks like I can do that (the fields for my KDP account appear to be editable) but I know at least one other distribution channel (iTunes) doesn't allow it. The KDP FAQ and forum pages do not contain information about making such a change.

Related question: Is there any benefit to creating a separate KDP account? That would be fine for the new titles, but I worry about unpublishing the old titles on the DBA account and republishing on the new corp account and losing ranking juice.

Any advice/observations would be appreciated!

Thanks

Ian

Just got this message from KDP:

1. Visit https://kdp.amazon.com and log into your KDP account.
2. Click the "Your Account" link at the top of the page.
3. Complete the "Company/Publisher Information" section by entering your name and mailing address.
4. If you've entered an address in the US, be sure to also complete the "Tax Information" section.
5. Under the "Your Royalty Payments" section, choose the method in which you prefer to be paid for sales on each website. If opting for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), click the "Add or Edit account" button and provide your bank account information. For EU bank accounts, you'll be asked to provide an IBAN number and BIC code, as well.
6. Once you've updated these details, click "Save."
I've gone through this process more than once with the same KDP account, and never had any issues whatsoever. You should be fine.

Don't even try with PubIt, though. The fields aren't editable, and even when you finally get a response from Customer Support, their only recommendation is to set up a new account and unpublish all the books from the old account.

Thanks for the tips, Aaron. I made the updates last night in KDP without any problem.

Somehow, I am not surprised about Pubit :)
