Hey gang!

Phew. This weekend I conquered Smashwords myself, getting my new YA novel up there.  My title is pending over at the nook site, but I'm having a heck of a time with the Kindle site.  I have a professionally-done cover that loads on all the other applications, but when I try to load it on Kindle, it says "Successfully Loaded" but doesn't appear. Only a broken link image shows instead.

My cover artist and I have tried fiddling with the dimensions to meet their requirements, and a lower resolution, but still the same problem. So frustrating.  Just wonder if any of you have run into this same problem at all, and if you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Marie

That's odd. If your cover isn't the right size it would just tell you so when you upload, so that can't be the problem. Maybe it's a glitch that'll fix itself? If you still can't get your cover up after another 24 hours though I'd email support.

What format is your cover? Have you converted it to jpg, png, etc?

Hi everybody.  Thanks so much for trying to help :)

It's the cover image that is separate from the document.  It's a jpeg file. And I've tried changing the pixels so it'll be the right size, trying a lower res., etc.  No use.

The weird thing is that I decided to just try a scan of the P.O.D. cover and see what would happen. It's even too large pixel-wise, yet it popped up!  It doesn't look as good as the actual cover, so I'm not going to use it, but it makes me wonder what is going on with the real cover image I'm trying to use.  :p

Update:  My cover designer was able to upload the original cover design for me, no problem.  She thinks the problem may have been the browser I was using.  I'm working in Google Chrome.  Just putting it out there in case someone else has a problem uploading a cover onto kindle.  Perhaps trying a different browser could work for you.

Thanks for being such a great community of helpful people.

So sorry to hear that, Bleekness.  It's so frustrating to have to tangle with glitches like this.  I'm glad to hear someone could help.  That's worth every penny!

Marie :)
