I read a LOT, and I have to say that I have never heard of at least half of the people on that list. (Most of whom had the highest recognition factor in the survey.)tim290280 said:While I agree with your point you still have to wonder if any of those surveyed actually read.
It is absolutely true, that most authors, no matter how famous, are unknown to most readers. We know our genre -- we know what we're interested in. We may see books by others, but if it's clear that it's not the kind of book we like, we don't even register the name.
