i unregistered my Kindle. when i re-registered, all my digital orders on amazon.com are gone...

i had two Kindles (my first was returned) on my account at one time, and vaguely recall that my current Kindle was #2, but when i re-registered, it's just called "calail's Kindle"... is that why my previous orders are missing? how do i get them back?

i searched, and can't find anything about this problem. anybody have any ideas?

This might be something you'll need to contact Kindle Support about.  I'm not sure I'm completely clear on what the problems is.

All your Kindle books should still be in your archive, even if there are no Kindles registered to your account.  Remember you can always register the app for your phone or computer.  They won't automatically show up on a newly registered device, though, until you connect wirelessly and do a sync and check.  Even then they only show in 'archived items'.

Nearly a year ago I de-registered my K1 to give to my son.  It was called "magic book".  When he recently returned it to me, having his own K3 now, I re-registered it and Amazon knew it was called "magic book".  I didn't have to re-name it from the generic "Ann's 2nd Kindle."  But books I'd previously deleted were NOT automatically re-loaded.

thanks Ann for taking the time to reply. even though i'd returned my first Kindle, it was still showing on my kindle lilst, so my replacement kindle was named automatically "2nd Kindle". i deleted the first one from my account several weeks ago.

when i registered my working kindle again to my account, it automatically named it to the default. now, when i go to "Your Kindle Orders" the only thing listed is the user guide - not any of the 60+ books i've purchased - although all of my books are still on my device. my guess was that it's related to the kindle naming.

When you go to "manage your kindle" at amazon do you see your kindle registered to that account?  If not, maybe you have two different accounts set up and your books are in the other account.  If your kindle is registered to that account and still no books listed, I think I would call Kindle CS.

Scroll down the "manage your kindle" page to "your orders" that is your archive from the computer and is where your books should be listed.  Click on the "+" to the left of the book title and it will open up all the options for that book.  You can send it to a device, permanently delete it, or loan it if it is loan enabled, all from right there.

It sounds like your books are listed in "Archived Items" on your Kindle. ??? If so, you haven't lost anything.

In Manage Your Kindle, under Your Orders; or Your Collection, you should see all your book titles . . . whether they've been loaded onto your Kindle or not.

I guess if they're not there, you need to contact Kindle Support.  It almost sounds like you got the second Kindle registered to a different account than the first one. . . . .

sounds like i'll need to get with Kindle support. i definitely only have one Amazon account, and, my list of orders is cleaned out... so there must have been some kind of problem when i re-registered. not sure how that happened because i only have one email and password... but hopefully Kindle support can get it all worked out.

thanks again for your quick replies.
