Was just wondering if you can enter the ISBN you get on Smashwords for your ebook into its Amazon description... not really that important to have an ISBN on it I know, but some places do ask for one so hmm.
I have heard (long time ago) that you can't use the free Smash ISBN someplace else. I hope someone more educated in the matter can give you 2 cents on it. Also, I would read the Smash TOS thingy very carefully, I think it was in there ...somewhere.
No. You cannot use an ISBN registered under any name but your own elsewhere. If you are using the Smashwords free ISBN, you can't port that ISBN to other retailers. Just like you can't use the Createspace free ISBN for other POD service providers.
The purpose of an ISBN is to identify a specific version of a book. It's like a social security number or a product serial number. It identifies a specific version of a book.
