Hi,  just wondering, those of you who write under a pen name (as I do), do you use your pen name or legal name for copyright page and registration?  Any pros or cons either way?  Thank. you.

The length of copyright is different. I want to say that it's 70 years for a pseudonymous work but it's lifetime plus 70 years if you register under your own name.

I use a version of my own name in the copyright notice section of a book but have only actually registered copyright on one series since copyright applies as soon as a book is published even if you don't register. It's just the amount of damages you can get that differs IIRC.

In the application, it asks for legal name & pseudonym. I use a hyphenated version of my name as a pen name, it's not exactly the same as my legal name, so I listed this as the "pseudonym" - although it's not really. I didn't see any note about length of copyright.
