Whoa! Ranking headed back up!

Self-Publishing is soooo unpredictable. I've been a little bummed this week because my new release (SECRETS AND SATIN) started sliding in the rankings after the initial first 2 days of release when it was in the low #100s at Amazon. This one didn't crack the top 100 like all my other MacKenzie books. I knew going in sales would be slower because even though it's a MacKenzie book, the H/h aren't actual MacKenzies, and I was taking a chance by writing a story about secondary characters. But low and behold, today the rankings started climbing again and I'm sitting at #168! Last night when I went to be it was almost at #400. So maybe, maybe, maybe I can crack to top 100 on this one.

Congrats! I was seeing the same thing this week. I've been keeping a closer eye on my new releases looking for launch patterns. They seem to dip about 48 hours after release and then on day 5, they start climbing again. Book 2 is holding. I'm waiting to see if it slips. It's been teetering at the top 100 line.

Remind me not to release stuff at the same time as you! Damn, you wrote a lot of books!

LOL! I've really tried to spend more time looking at trends as well the last few weeks. The lag time at Amazon has been driving me crazy.

You've been doing great! I've been watching you climb. This business is fun but nerve-wracking

Congrats! I bet it climbs higher tonight. Peak rank for the night seems to hit around 3am CST, if you're nutty enough to stay up that late and watch.

I grabbed it! Quick Question - Since that's a spin off, can I read it out of order or is that a bad plan?
