Will the record number of borrows this month EQUAL record low payout per borrow?

I definitely think that the people counting on a juicy $ per borrow this month are going to be disappointed. Yes, Amazon increased the pot but they also gave a month free Prime to a LOT of people who all seem to be using it.

I would be shocked if the $ per borrow was above $2. I'm thinking it will be closer to $1. LOL. Sad.

What do you think?

I opted out of Select - there are so many books in it - I felt I had better chances in other markets.

Of course, I won't know for sure for several weeks.

But it was worth the shot.
It's all guesswork at this point, but my personal guess is that will come in somewhere between $2.00 and $2.15.  We'll soon see!

We'll get a juicy payout whichever way it works. Lots of borrows or more per borrow it doesn't matter as long as the amount goes up. If I have twice as many borrows at the same amount per borrow, I'll still do darn well.

Ditto

My borrows were actually down until today, so we might actually see an increase--who knows.
My borrows are off the chart. I usually get about 1 per 10 sales, or even less. For my biggest sellers now, though, borrows are equalling or exceeding sales. I currently have 114 paid sales on Rakshasa, but 104 borrows. I have 49 sales of Demons of the Void, but 76 borrows.

I'm guessing the borrow rate to be about $2.10, same as last month. If it's lower I won't be surprised, if it's higher I will be quite happy. Either way, interesting times lay ahead.

It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world.

Me too, David. I've never had borrows like this before! I hope that the rate is at least $2.
:'(  Everyone's talking about getting a lot of borrows this month. I haven't even gotten one!

Bah, humbug.
My borrows are about the same as November.

I do enjoy the excitement over guessing how much the payout will be.  ;D

+1

Lat month I released Missing: The Body of Evidence and had 9 borrows. This month zero on all books.
I think it will be the biggest borrow rate to date--that is, it will top April's $2.48. Last December's fund was $500,000; this December's is $1.4 million. Yeah, I realize there are now additional Amazon stores with access to KOLL, but those markets are much smaller and still in their infancy. Plus, this Kindle holiday season does not (yet?) feel as big as last year's. So, $2.49 per borrow--at least!
