For those who write in word document.

Do you find there is a certain number of words you have to have banged out to get over 200 pages? i.e for me its around 55,000 or 60,000

I know it will vary based on your margin settings and font size. But if you are at like 12 font, the default 2.54 left and right margins.

Are you doing around 60,000 to get over 200 pages?

Typically it's about 300 words per page for me, which is roughly the same as a trade paperback.
Word count in pages in MS Word itself is kind of meaningless...unless you're planning on printing them out.  I tend to judge by my paperback size instead.  I typically print at 12pt font at 5x8 trim size.  That usually translates to about 250 words / page.

So in that case, a 60k novel would probably run just north of 250 pages (after formatting, front and back matter etc).
My current MS just hit 70,000 words and it's sitting bang on 200 pages.

Its not just number of words it's how you use them. For example dialogue takes up more space than solid paragraphs.
What's the verdict on word count to page as far as Amazon measures things?  If the title info for a Kindle book listed on Amazon says 120 pages, what wordcount does that tend to work out to? 20K? 30K?

New Arrivals is 37,000+change and its listed as 156 or something on Amazon. It's 85 on my Word Processing program.
