Writers nausea?

500 Views 6 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Kay Bratt
Have been at desk four days in a row writing, writing, writing and I think it's making me sick. I'm used to the back pain, but fatigue and nausea?

And no, I don't think I have something, because I seem to feel better if I stand up and walk it off.

Time for a break!

Seriously.  :-\

Look after yourself.
Have you been missing any meals? Not getting enough sleep? My best cure for nausea is to eat something. Since I'm always eating or looking forward to my next meal, I rarely suffer from nausea.  ;D
I've written every night for several days in a row. My kids complained a lot. My wrists hurt (I have carpal and cubital tunnel, though). No nausea. Do you use reading glasses? Got enough light? Enough fresh air? Snacks?

(Oh, and you can beat the back pain buy sitting down in a recliner with your feet up, and the laptop in your lap- works for me.)

Reminds me of the old joke:

Doctor, it hurts when I do this.
Then don't do that.
Yes, take a break. Eat some fresh fruit to get the good kind of sugar. Drink water.

I take 20-minute walks on my treadmill when in a writing frenzy. Not only is it good-fer-ya, that exercise seems to get my brain going. I come up with lots of idea while on the treadmill. Works every time when I'm stuck on something.
I go out and walk my dog, taking big gulps of fresh air as I go. The brain needs clean oxygen, stimulation, and just a break once in awhile! (and I have the weirdest most interesting neighbors that it always helps my creativity to run into them)
