Hello Everyone, as I type this post the third book in my first trilogy of novels is being put up on Kindle Books. Being only 17, I barely scraped by in putting up 3 books before I turned 18. This, by far, is not only the biggest writing achievement in my life, but one big goal in my life as well. Now, so that this doesn't end up a mere promotional thread for my works, I want to ask this fair community: What is your greatest writing achievement? What are you most proud of? I'm interested to hear and no feat is too small, so post away friends.

I'm 25 and I'm still working on my first book, so 3 before 18 is very impressive. :)

My greatest achievement as a writer was when something I wrote for my college newspaper was used as source material in a lecture I was taking. The professor didn't realize I was in the class. As everyone discussed my writing, it took everything in my power not to jump up and yell "That's me! I wrote this~!"

Also getting paid as a freelancer the first time was very exciting.

Congrats on your achievements. Super impressive to have written three books in that time! Do you plan on writing another series?

My greatest writing achievements  are when I got my first 65cent per word job as a ghostwriter and when I was able to write a 124 page non fiction book on a subject I didn't know that well.... Both were equally amazing.

Congrats again!

My greatest writing achievement is something from my day job.  It is a brochure that has had over 1,000,000 hard copies printed and has 62,000,000 Google results.

For my fiction, I'm just rather proud of everything I've put out.  We should all give ourselves a pat on the back for what we've done.

Selling to Weird Tales Magazine in 2008. My first pro short story sale and it was to a highly respected magazine that first published the Conan the Barbarian short stories in the 1920s. The magazine won a Hugo Award for Best Sci-fi/Fantasy magazine the same year and the editor sent me a photograph of the trophy and a short note. It was that sale that gave me the confidence to know I was good enough to self-publish and have my writing stand up alongside pro work, rather than just think it.

Funny thing is, since the rights reverted back to me after about a year I self-published the same story on Amazon earlier this year and have not had a single sale. Just the way it goes.

My writing career's barely a few months old, so nothing major for me so far, but I'd have to say the decision to actually get started on writing as more than a hobby was a big one for me. It was a fantastic moment when that light went on and I realised I could make money from doing this, and it went from being a vague dream to something I was actively pursuing.
From then on everything's been a little achievement. My first sale, my first hundred dollars, my first review, and I'm looking forward to many more in the future. :)
