I can no longer open my browser because of a popup re XP Internet Security 2012 Firewall Alert. Looks legit but ends up wanting me to buy something. However I can write this from my iPod.

UPDATE;  IT guy at work says this is a malicious virus.  I've downloaded instructions on how to remove it, but please beware if you get messages saying you have viruses.  Looks like it came from Microsoft, but it does NOT.

Thanks, NogDog.  Had to go to the local library to use a computer to research this virus.  I did find a site, but it required me to download 3 files.  I'll check out your link, and hopefully it'll do what I need.

I had this same one.  It's a bitch to get rid of.

MalwareBytes seems to help, but I eventually created a new account on my computer and moved everything over to it.

Doesn't it make you want to break someone's legs?

I know it may be coming . . . .  But for now, Apple / Mac all the way.  I love it.

Well, if you get it here's a wonderful site to tell you how to get rid of it:

www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal

NogDog's link got me somewhat confused.  I'm not a star like he is.
