I'm kind of miffed at Amazon for shipping the Kindle2 early, and I bet I'm the ONLY one!  I've been working the past several weeks in Birmingham, AL.  My kindle is being delivered to my home in Lexington, SC...six hours away.  I was planning on making it home this weekend if only for a few hours, so I upgraded my shipping to 2 day to make certain that it would be there before the weekend so that I could take it with me when I leave Sunday night (assuming I'm heading right back to B'ham Sunday night).

It's one thing to know that Amazon still has the Kindle in their possession or it's on the truck and not delivered yet.  It's quite another to know that my Kindle will be sitting at my house and I can't get to it!  ARGHHHH!!!!  How frustrating!

Jonathan...still kindleless.

Assuming those are your relatives in your avator, the K2 may already be in use by another member of the family by the time you return.
LOL...My wife has been threatening to do this very thing just to tease me. Err...she better be teasing darn it! As for my boys, they are three and six. The six year old was reading very well before he started kindergarten. I'm not talking about books like, "See spot run. Jane runs fast." I mean things like the parents' introduction to some of his books with words like "fundamentals" and "learning". Sometimes I think he misbehaves on purpose so he can be sent to his room. We do allow him to read while on restriction from the computer, television, and Wii. This last week, my wife even went to the library and checked him out a stack of books. Yeah, he goofed up pretty big last week.

I timed my shipping purchase so that it would arrive on Thursday when my husband is home all day.  It is coming on Wednesday when no one is here...I will probably try to leave work for a half hour sometime after it ships so I can run home and get it hehe

Everything turned out okay after all!  At work, we ended up catching up to the other contractors and ran ourselves out of work.  We ended up taking a long weekend and will travel back to Birmingham on Sunday (provided the weather holds and they get far enough ahead of us to justify us coming back so soon).  I am at home, kindle in hand, and more importantly, WITH MY FAMILY!  WOohoo!!!

Life is good....VERY good!
