Hello.

I want to work with you.

About EconomyEdits...

“…a fantastic editor…” ~ Ryan Lieske
“Economy Edits is first class.” ~ Geraldine Evans
“…a wonderful person to work with…” ~ MA Leibfritz
“…easy to follow and made perfect sense…” ~ Nicole DelaCroix

I am the principal editor at EconomyEdits.wordpress.com

I love the authors I work with, but would like to work with more wonderful writers more often, so I am seeking new clients.

Until now, I have found most new clients via personal recommendations. However, some of my clients suggested I register and post here, as there are many talented writers seeking quality editorial assistance at affordable prices.

And this is what I offer.

My work is thorough and professional, yet I charge only $5 per 1000 words, meaning just $250 for your 50k novel.

Because I am moving from part-time to full-time, I currently have editing slots available, and would love to discuss how you can help me fill them.

Please check out my website, read our testimonials, and then... contact me, so we can begin.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kindest regards,

Dave ~ your next and last editor

We track what the web's leading tastemakers and book reviewers are writing about, uncovering things that match your favorite authors, personal interests and current events, and bring them to you daily. 10% of our revenue goes to support 3 great literacy non-profits.

Readers are drowning in an ocean of books. We find great books you'd never find on your own, based on your personal interests and reading habits, not what somebody else thinks you should read or what somebody else bought.

Please note that we receive more titles than we can possibly review, but we do accept pre-published works for review.

My name is Jeff and I am a professional freelance artist. My job is to create the best possible cover to represent your books. I have created best selling book covers, and work with many best-selling authors. Many of the books I have worked on have reached the Amazon 100 top paid books. I work to create covers that not only represent the books well, but also increase sales and inspire readers. I have worked with over 150 clients in book covers, video games, RPG, and board games. My process is personal and simple. I like to start with a Skype call to hear about the book and to get to know my clients whenever possible.

This is my promise to each of my clients:

I create original artwork. Everything I create is original. I do not use templates or start with any pre-existing art. Any photo textures used in small ways are royalty free and include no cost or worry for you.
Design & art are not only my passion, but also my vocation. I serve clients with the highest levels of service, communication, and courtesy.
I respect your time and I am committed to delivering your project on the mutually agreed upon date!

My website is jeffbrowngraphics.com and has a lot of helpful information including an explanation of my rates, process, and an about page so you can get to know me a bit more.

$200 extra for typography / graphic design for the cover

The best thing about a Book Tour is that it will give you exposure to many readers all at one time. Authors who self-published don’t have the benefit of a publisher to give them publicity or set up Physical Book Tours. Social Media is BOOMING, promote your book online where many perspective readers can find it!

We have been coordinating Book Tours for over 4 years.

We have Successfully completed OVER 1000 Book Tours and Promotional Events in the last 4 Years!

Jeff Seymour has been writing and editing speculative fiction for over a decade. He acquired titles for Carina Press as it built its science fiction and fantasy program and has helped bestselling and award-nominated authors get ready for publication.

Jeff believes that, as an author, you should look for three things in an editor; they should understand what you’re doing, they should think it’s awesome, and they should know how to help you do it better. Jeff will only take you on as a client if he fits those criteria.

Jeff’s professional experience lies primarily in genre fiction, including science fiction, fantasy, horror, mysteries, thrillers, and romance, but he will accept manuscripts in most genres. He is proud to offer the following freelance editing services:

Developmental edits
Big-picture items—chapter structure, does the world make sense, do the plot twists work, are the characters believable, how is the pacing, is the prose distracting, etc. Jeff’s rate for developmental edits is $75 + $.0090 per word, or $9.00 per 1,000 words.

Line edits
Sentence-level edits—word choice, syntax, paragraph structure, speech tags, redundancy, etc. Jeff’s rate for line edits is $25 + $.012 per word, or $12 per 1,000 words.

Copy edits
Similar to line edits, but focused strictly on grammar and mechanics. Jeff’s rate for copy edits is $25 + $.012 per word, or $12 per 1,000 words.

Proofreading
Similar to copy editing but less intense and only available for manuscripts that have already been professionally copy edited. Jeff will read quickly over your manuscript looking for glaring errors in spelling, grammar, or formatting and correct them. Jeff’s rate for proofreading is $.007 per word, or $7 per 1,000 words.
