Hello there!

My new ebook "True Friends" is now live at the Kindle Store. Here's what it's about:

It's the fall of 1983. David Chalmers is a high school senior who hangs around with a group of fellow science-fiction fans, but feels few attachments to them. Alison Hughes runs with the popular crowd, but she's as smart as she is pretty, and wonders if they're becoming predictable.

Over the course of a few weeks events will cause David and Alison to think about what it means to be friends. Are friends just people you spend time with? What does it mean when you're someone's friend? Why should any of that be important?

Here's the Kindle Store link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005K1IZYM

You can also get it at Smashwords and the Nook store. I hope you like it!

Hello again, Robert, and congratulations on your book! :)

Please note that KindleBoards is a Readers and Kindle Fan forum. Authors are always welcome to post anywhere but, as you browse the 'boards, please keep in mind that self-promotion, of any sort, is ONLY allowed here in the Book Bazaar.

A brief recap of our rules follows: (Note that this doesn't mean you've done anything wrong; we just want you to have a ready reference, so post this note in every thread. :) )

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it as we ask that authors have only one thread per book and add to it when there is more information. You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice).

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days. Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link. Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows. This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles! Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post. For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread:
Authors: KindleBoards Tips & FAQ.

All this, and more, is included in our Forum Decorum. Be sure to check it from time to time for the current guidelines and rules.

Thanks for being part of KindleBoards! Feel free to send us a PM if you have any questions.

True Friends has a main character who's a Doctor Who fan, and there's a scene that takes place at the DW fan group meeting. It was a fun scene to write, because it took me back to what I liked about fandom and DW. It was also fun to knock down an episode that wasted my time being so crappy. Just thought I'd share that. :)

This thread isn't dead, it was just resting...

Actually, there is news! A good review! Here's where you can find it: http://thephantomparagrapher.blogspot.co.nz/2012/03/review-true-friends-robert-collins.html

You can also find it at the "True Friends" page on Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12507664-true-friends

In addition, I've started the process to get a print edition of TF out. I'm expecting my proof copy. Once it's for sale I'll post. I expect to have copies for sale at the SF conventions I'll be doing this year. If you live in or near the middle of the country, come to one and say "Hi." I plan to have a table in the dealer's rooms at each. My schedule is up at my blog (and will be updated through the year as events are added): http://robertlcollins.blogspot.com/

Thanks!

Sorry it's been a while since I updated this.

There's a nice review of "True Friends" at Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12507664-true-friends. If you've bought a copy, I hope you liked it. Whatever you thought of it, please consider posting a review at your favorite review site.

If you haven't bought a copy, I hope you'll take a look.

Thanks for taking a look!

Not much news about the book, but there is new Doctor Who. I liked "Asylum of the Daleks." I'm hoping to keep up with the new episodes, though I will miss next weekend's story because I'll be at the Kansas Book Festival.

Anyway, consider "True Friends" as your next read. Thanks!
